Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Review, understand, and interpret the designs, specifications, and detailed information accompanying the construction plans to ensure that construction proceeds smoothly and to identify and address any conflicts that may pose problems or obstacles in the field. Also, consider and prepare proactive solutions to prevent any impediments to the progress of the work.
  2. Ensure that construction work is conducted in accordance with the contract, designs, detailed specifications, and the list that has already been approved by the project.
  3. Control and inspect to ensure that construction contractors perform their work meticulously, in accordance with engineering principles, and following proper construction procedures.
  4. Review and consider proposals for the approval of shop drawings and as-built drawings during construction, submitted by the contractors.
  5. Examine and propose information for the approval of the use of construction materials and equivalent items from the contractors.
  6. Inspect and test the quality of construction materials by the contractors to ensure they meet the standards set out in the designs and detailed specifications.
  7. Consider ordering quality testing of materials as necessary and recommend procedures and methods for testing.
  8. Suggest ordering a halt to specific parts of the contractor’s work if it is deemed that continuing would cause damage to the construction or pose a danger to life and property, and then report to the project manager for resolution.
  9. Address and resolve immediate problems that may arise during construction to prevent damage to the work.
  10. Inspect and instruct technical personnel to prepare an inventory and estimate the cost of the construction materials used by the contractors, including both those already used in construction and those not yet used.
  11. Check the quantity and work performance proposed by the contractors and submit it to the project manager for consideration for payment requests, verifying against the actual work done on-site.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in construction work, high-rise buildings, hotels, shopping malls, and government projects.
  • Possess a professional license.
  • Ability to communicate in English is highly considered.
  • Able to start work immediately is highly considered.
