วัดพระพุทธรูปทองคำ วัดไตรมิตร เป็นที่ตั้งของพระพุทธรูปทองคำที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ซึ่งมีความสูงเกือบห้าเมตรและหนักห้าตันครึ่ง ในอดีตช่างฝีมือสร้างพระพุทธรูปด้วยทองคำ และอำพรางพระพุทธรูปจากการบุกรุกของค้าศึกด้วยการฉาบปูนปั้นและปูนปลาสเตอร์

solid gold Buddha,

The buddha statue survived from Burmese invasion, which was hidden in plaster for most the century. It was accidentally discovered about 1950’s, reportedly comprised of approximately 83% pure gold and weight five and a half tons.

Its construction divides as the Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Centre on the first floor, an exhibitions of the origin of the Gold Buddha on the second floor and the world’s largest gold Buddha image is enshrined on the top level.

The gorgeous statue is presently housed in an imposing four-storey marble structure.

The Golden Buddha Temple, Wat Traimit, houses the world’s largest massive gold seated Buddha measuring nearly five metres in height and weighing five and a half tons. In the past, artisans crafted the Buddhas in gold and disguised them from invading armies by a covering of stucco and plaster.
